The meeting will be held at the Cádiz Congress Palace from September 24 to 26
The daughter of the well-known naturalist Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, she is a biologist and scientific communicator and tries to raise awareness to live in harmony with the environment.
The biologist and scientific disseminator Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente will be in charge of opening the Blue Zone Forum-Navalia Meeting 2025 this year with an inaugural presentation after the institutional ceremony of the event, which will be held at the Cádiz Congress Palace from November 24 to 26.
Precisely today, registrations have opened to attend the Blue Zone Forum, which this year the Cadiz Free Trade Zone will hold jointly with Navalia Meeting, the international shipbuilding meeting held by the organization of the Navalia fair in odd-numbered years.
The intervention by Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente will be the first of the major presentations that will take place during the event, which will bring together in the Cadiz capital experts linked to the Blue Economy and industry and shipbuilding, turning Cádiz into an international forum where entrepreneurs, companies, institutions, experts and speakers will meet. There will also be, like other years, a stand area for exhibitors and sponsors.
Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente has followed in the footsteps of her father, the well-known naturalist Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, who dazzled an entire generation in the 1970s. A pioneer in the defense of nature in our country, he made documentaries for RTVE that are part of the best in the history of Spanish radio and television.
Her daughter has picked up and expanded the baton, she is a biologist and disseminator and has managed to build her own trajectory from sensitivity, science and a deep awareness about the planet we inhabit, addressing above all to a young audience to try to change the way in which young people relate to the environment.
The intervention by Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente will give way to a series of activities, talks, workshops, round tables or live demonstrations, among other actions, which make up a complete agenda that those interested can access at www.bluezoneforum.es and register at www.bluezoneforum.es/inscriptions.
The delegate of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, has highlighted the importance of the presence of figures with the relevance of Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente "who confirm that Cádiz and the Blue Zone Forum are a benchmark at a national and international level, which attracts and concentrates interventions from prestigious experts and turns our city into the great forum of the sector. We have the responsibility of raising awareness about the Blue Economy, about environment and on the improvement of the sector through technological innovation; promote and encourage entrepreneurship, mainly among young talent; and support the business fabric.”
For three days, Cádiz will once again be a center of reflection and knowledge around the Blue Economy, industry and shipbuilding thanks to the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Incubazul, Blue Core and Navalia Meeting, which this year are joining forces to once again turn the capital of Cádiz into the great forum of the sector and bring together entrepreneurs, companies, institutions, experts and lecturers in the city.
In previous editions, Cádiz became an authentic forum for the Blue Economy, innovation and entrepreneurship, focused on reflections and experiences on the transition towards a more sustainable socioeconomic model based, mainly, on the oceans and seas as a great opportunity for the future of the planet and the latest technological and scientific advances were shown.
In 2023, 1,200 attendees participated, three major international speakers (Gunter Pauli, Angel León and Teresa Zabel), 38 lecturers and there were five expert workshops and three networking events. Last year, the Blue Zone Forum-Innovazul 2024 was held in collaboration with the University of Cádiz and was attended by more than 1,500 people, with three great speakers (Celine Cousteau, Ferrán Adriá and Gisela Pulido), 165 national and international experts, in addition to the celebration of the Blue Women Forum, a space dedicated to women, with the media Mercedes Martín, and another space reserved for Biotechnology.
